It’s all happening right now in the Big Apple: the 2011 IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) convention – and South Africa’s top talent is in the mix, showcasing their potential for major market agents, managers and casting directors who are in search of new faces.
In the whirlwind of last week’s preparations, we photographed a stunning local model, Charné Spies, to add “something different” to her modeling portfolio. Dave being Dave, he came up with the goods at very short notice, planning our shoot at one of his nearby Enduro riding playgrounds 😀 The broken-down building, situated beside a deserted Jo’burg mine dump, caught the dawn light to perfection, resulting in an edgy, Mad Max-style setting. Charné was a consummate professional, barely flinching as she changed outfits in the icy winter cold, posed in next-to-nothing dresses and teetered across rubble in sky-high stilettos – except when Dave helped her out with a piggyback!
We have a particular interest in some of SA’s other stars too, since I had the pleasure of shooting their portfolio in studio, including three of our national, top ten finalists: model Tracey Kroukamp, actress Nina Robertson and singer Kirsten Zacharowitz:
