Loafing is a necessary luxury.

It gives rise to inspiration.

Quotes to consider:

“To loaf is a science, to loaf is to live” – Honore de Balzac

“Loafing needs no explanation and is its own excuse.” – Christopher Morley

“It is better to have loafed and lost, than never to have loafed at all” – James Thurber

“In producers, loafing is productive; and no creator, of whatever magnitude, has ever been able to skip that stage, any more than a mother can skip gestation.” – Jacques Barzun

Totally delightful, Naomi. I have not put enough attention on ‘loafing’. I will take lessons from Duc le Chat.

Loved the quotes. Thanks for finding them. – Amy

You’re a treat, Amy, thank you! I will follow suit and take lessons from Jina. The Christopher Morley quote was particularly special to come across. I found it in an upmarket furniture catalogue, along with beautiful photo’s, one of which was of a cat astonishingly like Jina, in her precise position of repose 🙂
