How to Shoot a Staff Summit

We had a great time last week, capturing a significant day for Total Coal SA. Held at the stunning Kievits Kroon conference venue near Pretoria, the event was a resounding success, from the ice breaker that involved a funky hat competition and on-the-money speeches, to delicious food and brilliant team building exercises.

Apart from documenting the various activities, we were asked to photograph a staff portfolio of around 80 individuals and take some group shots of the management team. Here’s a pic of Dave in action with studio lights and the backdrop we made to complement their corporate colours:

And this is a sample of the end result – one of the informal pics, of Juanita Meijsen in her funky hat:

As personal assistant to the managing director, she did an excellent job of coordinating the function, with expert help from a few other people such as Susan Findlay from Go Safari. Follow that link if you’re looking for a tailor-made safari or conference in South Africa.

Congrats ladies and all at TCSA on a fabulous staff summit, and thank you for the opportunity to photograph it all, ending with a classic, Cape Dutch-inspired sunset 🙂

Amazing that Dave is already able to tackle projects such as this, Naomi. Both of you are incredible.

Thank you for that special mention, Amy 🙂 I’m so proud of Dave; he’s healing like a star and did a brilliant job on this, despite some back pain from the whole day of shooting. He also did his first short cycle today with a delighted Quest in tow!
