Full credit to all involved in the far-reaching initiatives associated with World Health Day and high five to Jo’burg for participating in the World Health Organization’s ‘1000 Cities, 1000 Lives’ campaign! This includes the launch of optometry and podiatry clinics, initiation of a community environmental health awareness campaign, implementation of a rodent infestation prevention campaign, and extension of the hookah/hubbly bubbly hazard awareness campaign, among other things.
Although not involved in these projects, I certainly recognize the need for them and salute the effort being applied. Aside from more serious concerns, the hubbly bubbly craze hasn’t escaped our notice and if the hunting statistics of our beloved but relentless Wegie (Norwegian Forest Cat) are anything to go by, then we can vouch for a recent increase in the local rodent population. Jina has been bringing us a rat a night lately – confirming that she for one is committed to the cause 🙂
